Fitting pathway

What happens after you refer

One freephone call is all we need. From there we allocate, book, assess, fit and complete the paperwork — and make the request on the patient's behalf.

Step 01

Patient referral received

Call 0800 917 9584. Our team takes the patient's details and confirms the referral with you.

Step 02

Patient is allocated to their local Suportx fitter

One of 15 accredited Product Specialists and Fitters, based in the patient's own region.

Step 03

Patient is contacted to arrange a fitting appointment

The appointment takes one of two routes, chosen with the patient.

Route A

Home visit

Patient is assessed and measured, carefully, with compliance the key factor.
Patient is shown a selection of appropriate styles and given time to wear and test the device if a standard item.
Route B

Telephone consultation

Patient is sent a remote fitting guide and disposable tape measure.
Patient is assessed and given clear instructions on how to measure themselves, alongside the written ones in the kit.
Step 04

The right device is determined

The fitter determines which support device is best suited to the patient, taking into account their lifestyle, occupation and other key factors.

Step 05

Paperwork produced and the request made

Paperwork is produced for one support device. The patient is left with a device order form and a post fitting guide advising next steps and estimated delivery times, together with customer care contact details.

Step 06

Stoma care nurse is updated

Once the patient has been measured, we update the referring stoma care nurse with the details of the fitting and the products requested for their patient.

Step 07

Post delivery follow up

Our customer care team contacts the patient to ensure safe arrival of their support device. They query the fit, performance and check compliance.

Satisfied

A further supply of devices is discussed with the patient to allow for washing and wearing.

Not satisfied

Action is taken to ensure the issues are resolved. Sometimes a refit may be required.

Keeping you informed

If helpful, we can provide updates and ongoing support so you are always aware of your patient's progress.
